I have the 6.5 x 24 " and the 3.5 x 9.5 " rulers . I use them for any pattern to cut strips and squares . I have a 12.5 " square ruler but I don't like it . To hard to see the lines on the fabric . Annie

Thanks! I'll be sure to take a careful look if I find the square rulers to make sure they are better than what I have now.

omigosh!!! i LOVE the EZ line of rulers.

they are reasonably priced compared to other brands.
the lines are easy to see.
the lines are nice and thin for more accurate cuts.
on the square and rectangular rulers, the 1/8th" marks are easy to find.
their triangle rulers are simply faaaaaaaaabulous and easy to use.
most of their rulers are good for more than one measuring and cutting task.
the plastic is not overly thick. that means less refraction of light. which means more accurate cuts.

there is one line of rectangulars i like better - the Olfa Frosted - but they are quit a bit pricier. they're worth it if you can pry the $$$ out of your budget because the angle lines radiate from the center of the ruler. no need for a fancy shmancy square-in-square specialty ruler.

you really can't go wrong with the EZ line. i recommend them highly to anybody on a budget and/or who is starting their ruler collection.

Thanks for your recommendation, Patrice! The price is even better if JoAnn's has them at 50% off or you use your coupon! They don't have all the sizes, so I'm keeping my eyes open for others. Several months ago I got June Taylor's shape cut ruler with a coupon, and it has really helped me with cutting straight strips. Then I like Hultgren's ruler for everything else.
