If we grow all of this cotton, why can't we get fabric made from that very cotton this country is growing???

I hear the majority of our fabric comes from somewhere else, like China???? Is that true?

Pictures like that bring us back to the basics of life....now wouldn't it be wonderful if we could bet back all the beautiful textile mills to make american fabric with american cotton so us american quilters could buy it with our american money.....what a concept !!!!!

I agree with you, In considering how much fabric costs, we must take into account, the prices of growing cotton, the processing of it, the designers of the fabric want to be paid, and then the distribution of it. Costly equipment and lots of labor. I pay what they ask and don't complain. I like to be paid for what I do also. I am just thankful we have the supplies available to us!

when i was a child my family grew cotton. it sure is pretty, but i hated to pick it. it would really tear your hands up!!

Brings back memories of working in a cotton factory, Burlington Inds., in Stonewall Mississippi. The contract was for Lee Jeans and we took the raw cotton through various stages to make denim. lol that was many many many moons ago. Thanks for the memories.
