Does anyone else do this?
I absolutely love looking at the pictures the members post of their quilts. But lately I've noticed that when I see them and I'm commenting to myself about how much I like the quilt I realize that - I have that pattern! Now I'm asking myself why I haven't made it yet and where did I put the pattern. There goes another thing to put on my To Do List.
Sorry, no........I don't have many patterns............
I do the same thing, so you aren't alone. So much inspiration here so if I don't have the pattern already I'm more likely to find one for myself. Although I do tend to look for free patterns for the same or similar before buying one. One thing for sure, my to do list gets a little longer every day! :D

I have over 300 patterns saved on Craftsy alone. Some free, some purchased. That is a quilting sin.
been there, done that :)
Yes I do the same thing. Don't feel alone. I think it's 'normal' - for us quilters.
I have not bought many patterns, but I do see inspiration everywhere I look. I would have to be four people with lifespans of 130 years to do everything I want.
I don't have a lot of patterns but I see so many things I want to make. And don't even get me started on vintage machines!!! :D
Yes!!! I have admired the Labyrinth for a long time. Today I was looking for some "how to" instructions, and came across several patterns I forgot I had. Yup....Labyrinth was right on top!!
I don't have a lot of patterns yet either...but the one quilt that gets posted often that I seem to admire is Yellow Brick Road and funny, I thought I bought that pattern a long time ago but I've never seen it in my sewing room. LOL
Went through my patterns the other day. I found 4 that I had duplicates of. That means I liked it that much that I had purchased it twice. Have I made any of those 4?? NOOO. More bucket list. Not to mention all the patterns in the 90 books that I have on the shelf. And my EQ7 where I can design anything. You say 130 years to get it all done? I think that is a conservative estimate.

My patterns are now in plastic sleeves and placed in binders. Organized by those from quilt shops (packet patterns), and internet printed out patterns. I have a two shelf bookcase that sits under my cutting table and I even have room for all of my Missouri Star Quilting books.

Between a pattern stash and a fabric stash there is barely enough room for me in my sewing room. Life gets shorter all the time and there is no way I will every use it all. Would you believe that the disposal of my sewing room is in my will? Have you all thought of that?
Yep, I have written instructions for what to do with my sewing "stuff". Hubs says he is going to burn everything in the driveway! I told him I would come back to haunt him if he did that! ( I hope he's kidding!)

How many of you know that the basic black and white marble covered notebooks that you can buy for bookkeeping and notes also come in graph ruled pages? I love those notebooks! |
Yep, I've started on my third large notebook of quilt inspiration ideas, tips and techniques, and I have many patterns I purchased and haven't made. I feel so guilty!!
I don't finish a lot of items but have my patterns, books and magazines organized. I have a notebook where everything is listed and the patterns are in one area of my storeroom and the books are alphabetized. That's the only thing in my life that is organized.

I'm still working and have a tons of "THINGS I WANT TO DO" list if I EVER retire
I have so many quilt patterns that I will have to live to be over 100 years old to make a dent in them. I seem to be having 1 GGB after the other and I now have 3 baby quilts to make and I am still working on a wedding quilt. I have told my grandchildren that there is a moratorium on weddings because I don't have the time to make a wedding quilt. I also have a large stash of fabric and notions. I don't know how many rulers I have because it seems each quilt pattern requires a special ruler. I wish they would put printed instructions in with the rulers so I can remember why I bought it in the first place.
