I'm donating this quilt and the person is trying to write up a description ... I found the pic on pinterest, but there was no "name" of the pattern ... anyone?

This is my quilt that I made from the picture

Thanks

Lovely top! I don't know the name but I might call it Rainbow Star.

Not a clue as to name but it's quite stunning.

PaperPrincess 01-15-2016 02:32 PM

looks like a French braid on the diagonal. I agree it is just a stunning quilt.
French Star? Braided Star?

Quilty-Louise 01-15-2016 02:40 PM

This is about as close as I have been able to find so far.

French Braid Star

willferg 01-15-2016 03:00 PM

I believe it's the Binding Tool Star, and Missouri Star Quilt Co. has a tutorial on it. You don't have to use the binding tool to make it, though, and that's not the best name for what is a beautiful block...

MarionsQuilts 01-15-2016 03:30 PM

Thanks so much!

nannyrick 01-15-2016 04:58 PM

Don't know the name, but love the quilt. Great job!!!

JustAbitCrazy 01-15-2016 05:55 PM

Looks like a French Braid with two setting triangles to put the block on point.

maryb119 01-15-2016 05:58 PM

I don't know the name but it sure is pretty!

GailG 01-15-2016 06:18 PM

tatavw01 01-15-2016 06:30 PM

maviskw 01-15-2016 08:29 PM

Looks like a French Braid to me.

zozee 01-15-2016 08:29 PM

Wow! That's a spectacular quilt! I love your color choices!

just_the_scraps_m'am 01-15-2016 09:01 PM

somehow it reminds me of a jacob's ladder block with some other pieces thrown in...have seen part of this pattern before.....

helou 01-16-2016 04:20 AM

beautiful quilt

equigle5 01-16-2016 06:00 AM

I have always liked the French Braids, and you just upped it a notch. Very pretty quilt!

I'd have to agree but with this quilt they added a sashing and used different color squares in the braid.

A very lovely quilt. Job well done.

MarionsQuilts 01-16-2016 09:18 AM

Thanks everyone!

French braids are so easy once you get the hang of them!

BonnieI 01-16-2016 04:32 PM

I don't know the name but I love it! Did you make your own pattern? It's wonderful.

MarionsQuilts 01-16-2016 05:05 PM

I saw a picture of it on pinterest - it was in black, white and red ... so I made the pattern based on the pic, and made it "softer" with different colours

sewnsewer2 01-17-2016 05:47 AM

I don't know either, but it's gorgeous! !

nwm50 01-17-2016 06:14 AM

I was about to say the same thing as Willferg
It looks like it was arranged little differently than MQ was

I finished one one with that pattern this past summer. It was called the Binding Tool quilt from Jenny Doan, but it essentially is the French Braid with a new name. Her pattern does not put in the sashing. I did not follow her pattern for the border because I wanted to make it larger to create enough to cover the pillows and hang down.

shasta5718 01-17-2016 09:29 AM

I also think it is a variation of the binding tool star pattern.

JANNY 01-18-2016 07:07 AM

I saw arrows going all directions, so would call it "Directional".

brandy123 01-18-2016 07:42 AM

The quilt is beautiful and think its called French Braid

RedGarnet222 01-18-2016 09:23 AM

I don't know either, but, I wanted to say how very nice your donation quilt is. I don't know why but, I thought of all roads lead to home.

JoyjoyMarie 01-19-2016 06:44 AM

What a lovely quilt. You could donate it my way ;).

bearisgray 01-19-2016 11:21 AM

I would call it feathered arrow shafts

Onetomatoplant 01-19-2016 11:28 AM

I don't know the name, but that quilt is gorgeous!
