Hello? Wrapped in Red, which is on the cover (and inside, of course) of the December 2011 issue of AP&Q, is not at all the same as the quilt the OP linked to. The only thing they have in common is that they're both red and white. The biggest clue...there is not one single red square in Wrapped in Red.

I did contact the blog owner but didn't hear from her.

And thanks JenniePenny, I ordered the book last night and am eager to look at it. I'm a beginner and really need a full set of instructions instead of just a block layout to be able to make the quilt. I just heard from the blog owner and she said that the quilt maker cannot remember where she got the patter. Alas, I'll just keep looking!

Wrapped in Red doesn't look like the same quilt. Beautiful, but not the one I'm looking for.

Here it is at Bonnie Hunters Site. Luann

The pattern (also called Stepping Stones, like the block) is from the Encyclopedia of Classic Quilt Patterns from Leisure Arts.
http://www.amazon.com/Encyclopedia-C.../dp/0848724747 It was made by a QB member last year. http://www.quiltingboard.com/pictures-f5/secret-garden-stepping-stones-quilt-t195134.html |

The block is also known by the name of Blackford's Beauty. There is a pattern named (simply) Blackford's Beauty which appears in the book 101 Fabulous Rotary-Cut Quilts by Judy Hopkins and Nancy J. Martin. I find the book to be a very valuable resource.
There is very little difference in the quilt you show and the one in the book, except for the border, and the use of one additional color. |

I saw this gorgeous red and white quilt on this blog (see link) and I'd love to make one. Can anyone tell me the name and/or where I might be able to find the pattern? Thanks!
