Thanks everyone for all your help. I checked out the book about bed runners and found it on Amazon for $4.46 plus shipping. I can't wait to get started!

Are bed runners like over sized table runners?

I like that idea very much! about using it at the top of the bed.

Funny, daughter in Iowa just told me today she wanted to use the tablerunner I sent her for Christmas as a bed runner. I told her to send me the measurements and I will try to get something made up that truly goes on the bed as a runner. I think it is a neato idea for those who use a duvet.

I like these bed runners very much and have thought about making one for our king bed. I just might take the tube quilt blocks I made today and add to them and make a runner for the bed. My DH's toes are always too warm at night and he has his feet sticking out, but mine are always cold...LOL. Besides, I think it would add some color to our plain cream colored matlasse bedspread.

Thanks, garysgal, for asking the question :)

That'll work. At night simply fold HIS side of it over to YOUR side of the bed and your feet will be warmer that way.

You're welcome! I think they are a great idea, and it would be a nice change from making full size quilts.

That's exactly what he does...throws his covers over on my side :)
