Thank you in advance!

Sometimes there are quilters who post pictures of what they have design for themselves. We have a talented lady here who is always creating the neatest original maze quilts.

It's a laser cut design and I think nancys notion sells them. I'm not able to put a link in here, sorry!

Thanks for the links but not quite the same pattern

Why not draw it out on a large piece of paper? If it isn't large enough, take it to one of the office supply places and get them to upsize it for you. If you can't draw, then print the picture, put a piece of paper over it and trace the design. Then go get it upsized (enlarged). Can you tell I've had too many fast food meals???

edited to add: I am assuming you know how to do raw edge applique using a product like Steam-A Seam 2 as the fixative. If not, then Google raw edge applique instructions and there are lots of videos out there. The whole piece should be cut from a single piece of fabric. Do not try to piece it. Seams would not be good.

Good idea Barb! Never even thought about that. Lol

The middle Nancy's Notions one is virtually identical except that there is an additional arch on the bottom (which looks the same as the top arch to me)........

Taking a short break from food prep so I don't have time to look but I think this was in a magazine about 10 years ago. When things quiet down here I will look for the magazine. I made something very similar to this and hang it every Christmas.

I agree. Looks like the one posted is a simplified version with the addition of the arch.

Keepsake Quilting is where I bought mine. It was very easy and looks great.

tessagin 11-27-2015 05:56 AM

I have taken pictures and printed out on regular paper. Then depending on how large I cut into sections and enlarge each section to my specs.

LindaR 11-27-2015 06:06 AM

nancy's notions has different ones

Sandygirl 11-27-2015 06:24 AM

Laser cuts are expensive but great details and a huge time saver! You will be chopping up some yardage to do this yourself and waste fabric in the process. Not worth the edfort IMHO.

There is one on Ebay for 34.95. Creative Iron is the vendor.

Instructions are in Quilt It for Christmas issue 2003 Quilter's Newsletter Magazine www.quiltersnewsletter.com. Hope this helps and you are able to get a copy of the magazine. The directions are easy but time consuming.

Nammie to 7 11-27-2015 08:39 AM

This is a pattern in an old Christmas quilting magazine. I'm 99% sure the magazine is no longer available.

You are right. You gave much more information than I did. I have that magazine, have made 10-12 of them for Christmas gifts over the years. I even taught a class to a group of non-quilters --they had a ball.

carolynjo 11-27-2015 09:29 AM

Yes, there was a series of 4 silhouettes depicting different nativity scenes. One was of shepherds, one of the adoration, one of the three kings, and I can't remember the other one. I did the 4 over a period of two years. found it! The designer is Dilys Fronk of Mold Flintashirel, North Wales. It was printed in Quilt It For Christmas Magazine A Subsidiary of Quilter's News letter in 2003., for 4 consecutive months. There was a separate pattern for sale afterwards, and she was invited to design another series, I think. I have given you more information than you wanted, but hope this helps.

MargeD 11-27-2015 10:56 AM

It first appeared in a quilting magazine, although I forget which one, several years ago. Keepsake Quilting used to have the die cuts for all 3 of the nativity; but I don't know if they still carry them, as they may be out of print.

tucsonquilter 11-27-2015 02:01 PM

Thank you all!!!! Now I'm going to look for the magazine

eastslopequilter 11-28-2015 04:46 AM

Similar patterns were in a quilting magazine a few years ago. The designer did one a year. I can't remember which magazine.

shasta5718 11-28-2015 08:33 AM

You might google laser cut patterns, I seen a site that does sell that type of patterns. They are very expensive though, so drawing your own and putting it on with something like wonder under would be more doable.
