LOL Our weekly bee was donated a large box of what seems to be drapery samples. No one wanted to deal with them so I brought them home. Last night, while watching TV, I separated them to darks, lights, and mediums. This morning I washed the darks. This is what was left when the blocks went into the dryer. Yes, it took me some time to pull them all apart, but, remember, the fabric is free! The edges already came pinked and I didn't want to sew the edges to prevent this. I plan on making charity quilts or projects with the fabric. |
lol,giant ball of loose strings

My cat would have a field day with that! It would be difficult to get it away from her.

If you're trying to figure out what the fabric content is, do the burn test. If it's polyester, it will melt. You'll have to look up what cotton and silk do. I would expect that nylon would melt, too.
Here's info on the burn test: http://quilting.about.com/od/fabrice.../burn_test.htm |
These samples make good hot pads because of the weight of the fabric. Also good purses or bags.

Is that what raveled off the fabric or is that what the fabric morphed into? Looks creepy!

Looks like what was hiding in my chair wheels last week!
