Does BSR red light work on Golden Threads paper?
I'm attempting to use the golden threads paper for the first time and have it pinned to the fabric all ready to go. I hooked up my BSR and it doesn't seem to be 'reading' the paper. It works fine when I stitched on batting and fabric. Is there something about the GT paper that makes it not work? If not, I'll have to resort to manual FMQ and watch my stitches (yikes!)

What is a BSR?
BSR stands for Bernina Stitch Regulator. I've never tried it over paper. Perhaps the paper is interfering with the computer in the BSR.
I think the paper is interfering but all is working out well doing FMQ manually and I am very pleased with how the Golden Thread paper works and how easy it is to remove as long as you keep your stitch length shorter.
I believe the Bernina BSR works by the "eye" reading the thread count in the fabric? SoI am assuming no thread count with the paper means it won't read?
I haven't ever used golden threads paper but I have quilted placemats with my BSR with a 11" x 17" piece of quilting -design-printed computer paper and it worked OK.
I Googled it and the BSR acts as an optical mouse and reads the movement. So it should work on the Golden Threads paper maybe?
My BSR worked on a paper pattern, although it was not Golden Threads paper.
If its not reading correctly, maybe you could stitch your pattern directly on the paper, with needle but no thread, and use the iron off pounce? I just tried that for the first time and really like it. Much better than tearing off all that paper! The Golden Threads web-site has a video showing the technique.
I've used my BSR with the Golden Threads paper several times and have never had an issue with it. Have you cleaned the little part of the BSR that "reads" the paper/fabric.
