Does this design have a name?
1 Attachment(s)
I would like to make this quilt for my grand nephew using a soccer panel. The panel isn't here yet, so I'm not exactly sure what size the individual "pictures" will be. They won't be very big, as the panel is only a 1/2 yard panel and there are 21 "pictures". I want to make it big enough for a "cuddle quilt". He is 10.
Does anyone know the name of this quilt design? bkay |
Looks like it is "INKED - SQUARES SURROUNDING" while no instructions it has fabric amounts for 1 quilt in different sizes at https://www.ttfabrics.com/page/proje...ding-2-213530/

Wow, that is a cute quilt!

Unfortunately, Lisa's link doesn't appear to be working anymore. I wonder if the pattern was free for a short period of time, then they took it down. I've found the pattern for sale in other outlets. But at least now you know the name, bkay! ;)
It is an attractive pattern. |
Works for me , it’s not a free pattern though.
|
That is SO weird, I get a screen that says FQS is down for maintenance.

Well, the Fat Quarter shop's site no longer shows her patterns. Missouri star is out of her patterns.
I can buy one that will SHIP a week from now on Etsy (no downloads). I guess I'll have to find another pattern. Poot! bkay |
I'm not having any problems accessing the downloads for this pattern -- all links have worked ok for me! Here's another sites, $6 for the immediate download

Iceblossom...thank you for finding the pattern cheaper than the original site (fatquartershop) and why on earth would the link that OurWorkbench (not their fault) posted have fabric requirements only and not the pattern. Downloading that only takes up computer memory space. Ask me how I know! Must admit that I'm tempted to buy the pattern.

I think the one with no directions was probably (since was using bolts) for shops to make kits and there would have been other resources available for shop owners.
Just a guess :) |

https://sewinasylum.com/products/squ...-quilt-pattern I'll try to find another shop, since you found several. However, it seems as if it is not sold as a download. (My guess is that some designers are so paranoid about pattern sharing, that they don't sell digital patterns.) bkay |
Rats! Usually with the PDF marking they are downloads and I have gotten multiple patterns that way. Most recently the Silk Path pattern from the Bonnie Hunter website.
I did go through the shopping cart at the sewinasylum and there was indeed a shipping charge. Tried the previous link to fat quarter shop and it says there clearly that it is a downloadable patter. Maybe today will give better results?? At the bottom of the page in the description part, it specifically says download and gives PDF help links https://www.fatquartershop.com/squar...wendy-sheppard |

Thanks everyone. I downloaded the pattern from the Fat Quarter Shop (Their site was not working for this pattern yesterday.). I'm not sure if I can adapt it to the "picture" size I have, but, at least, now I know.
Thanks, especially to IceBlossom (and of course, Janey) for all the help. bkay |
Yay! I'm so happy it worked for you today!!
The easiest thing is probably to frame your "pictures" to match the pattern size. Maybe there is a coordinating print? I've used grass design fabric before with sports fabrics, or maybe a black and white soccer ball print might work better with your panel. I looked some but didn't see the custom name fabrics any more on the Joann website, but maybe from another place like Spoonflower or other company. Of course, that would add both expense and time. From what you described of your panel, they might be rather small for that to work well. You might want to include them as the center of a star block or more of a log cabin multi-log frame. I would probably avoid changing the framing divisions (corner squares) on the pattern. Am guessing the pattern is made with 10" squares and maybe 1" for the black. But, you can break down the size of the white space between the black frames to be equal to the size of the squares. |

It you purchased the pattern prior to September 15, 2023, please note the correction below (Page 3, Steps 3 and 4): Diagrams from steps 3 and 4 are incorrect. Text is correct |
Thanks, Janey. I probably won't use the pattern, as it has too many little pieces for my patience level. It's really pretty, but I know my limits.
The panel will arrive today or tomorrow, so I'll see what's possible then. bkay |
Awww... I'm sorry you are feeling discouraged about your pattern.
When I was looking at things, I was wondering if your panel was designed by Quilting Treasures? Hancock's has coordinating fabrics and a Kit for this concept -- maybe it will turn your pattern decision into a different direction: https://www.hancocks-paducah.com/Qui...PYjwBoSlKea62g |
Yes, that is the panel. I didn't see the kit. I wish I had seen that first. It looks easy. I might just order it anyway. I'll think on it. Thanks, Iceblossom.
bkay |
I ordered the kit. I think I'll use the panel I have as part of the back. Thanks again, Iceblossom.
