I do not wash my fabric before sewing.
|
I don't prewash. Prefer to wash after it's quilted so it shrinks a wee bit and has that old, vintage look.
|
Only if I feel there is a chance of the colors running. I love the feel of fabric before it is washed and I feel it is easier to sew. I might be one of the lucky ones but I have never had a quilt shrink to the extent of being noticeable.

I never wash it first - if that makes me lazy, I guess I am.....I prefer to think of it as "creative license"..............I went to a Kaye England trunk show and workshop and she said she never washes her fabric before she uses it either so we have at least one designer on our side. :D

I don't wash mine.. I like the wrinkeled look. I just make sure I throw in a couple color catchers with the first wash.
|
I feel like I have to. I started out pre-washing because I was told to do so. I don't think it's a good idea to combine pre-washed fabrics in the same project as non-washed, so I have to keep washing.

I don't normally wash fabric before using it. So far this hasn't been a problem.
|
I'm not a prewasher either, although sometimes I will prewash reds. Never had a problem - knock on wood - so will continue with my wicked ways. LOL.

When I learned to quilt in the early 80s it was a mortal sin not to prewash all fabric. Now that I am getting back into quilting, I was so happy to see that things in the quilting world have relaxed a lot. Do I prewash? Never again!! I just throw in a color catcher with my quilts. No problem!

I rarely wash mine.
