I have so much fabric that my lil granddaughter asks to look in my fabric shop when she comes over...lol...If you decide you want to go with different shades of the colors that are in the monkey fabric, I will be happy to send you some fabrics...There is a great lady on here, Applique is her board name, and she sent me some great landscape fabrics when I started working on McKenna Ryan quilts..she would not let me pay her or trade...she said to pay it forward...So, here is my offer to pay it forward to you...You can pm me and let me know if you would like me to send some, what amounts you are needing, and I will try and see if I can find a closer up pic of the monkey fabric to see what shades of greens, browns, tans, etc may work.

I signed up for the Craftsy class on color in hopes it will help me with some of these dilemmas

Cute quilt! Just tossing an idea into the pool:
Then add a thin inner border of the brown to frame it before the monkey-border which would tie it all together nicely. |
By the way, I'm admiring your POINTS! (Ok, that didn't come out QUITE the way it should have...)
Nice work on those! My first quilt pattern has pinwheels, too, and I'm hoping to be able to do them as nice as you've done here. |
Teeler - Thanks for that suggestion! I'm still mulling it over to see what would work with the monkeys.
I've been using these two tutorials for my pinwheels: http://quilting.about.com/od/quiltbl...el_quilt_2.htm http://quilting.about.com/od/quickpi...uaretria_3.htm I'm pretty happy with how they're turning out, especially since it's the first time I've attempted this pattern! |
