Is it possible to use more than one size block in a quilt without it looking like a scrap sampler?

Sure you can use many different sizes .

Here is a BOM from Ericas and she has the blocks numbered so you can kind of see the different sizes .

It is your quilt , do what you want

Absolutely. I have seen a couple that are all the same blocks just at a different scale. If i had a photo of it I would post it for you but it is possible.

Well, if you 12 inch and 6 inch, you could arrange them in a 4 to 1 fashion, but I think the colors you might use would make a difference also. Pick just a few main colors and have them run through all of the blocks. I think you could successfully avoid a scrappy look that way.

I have used different size blocks for more than one border, you just have to do your measuring carefully and make sure it can be divided evenly.

That is a beautiful quilt. Yes you can use different size blocks. Do what moves you. After all it's your quilt.

You certainly can use the same block in different sizes, too. You could make one block that is 12 X 12 and alternate with 4 blocks that are 6 X 6. You could do whatever you want...No quilt police on this watch!

You can use different sized blocks, but it does get to be a bit of a puzzle if they aren't even fractions of each other. It might take a bit of figuring to know where to place them, so the edges line up.
