Do you snip all the dog ears or leave 'em on?
I do it if I have several seams coming together to reduce the bulk but if its just intersecting with a straight seam I may not. Should I really be snipping 'em all? K |
snip

I don't snip, but I think it is a matter of personal preference.
I usually snip them. I find them distracting otherwise.
I snip mine too because when I'm piecing, they get in my way and it bugs me.
If they seem to be in the way, then I snip them. But sometimes I leave them to the end and rotary cut them off even with the block when I'm all done.
I square up my block and that takes care of the snip....takes time but that's what I like ....each step...sew ....press...square....till it's all put together.... :D
I have found that to be true to dcathie. Every time I don't me and my ripper become best friends lol.
I snip.

You need to look at marti Michelles perfect templates, or F&P also has templates for turning these dog ears into perfectly matched blocks. You will love it!
And will never piece without them. www.frommarti.com |
