Congrats!!! I love my Accuquilt. The dies that I have purchased & most are the strippers. It is so wonderful to get so many accurate strips just by the crank of a handle. (Tip: the cutter is easiest to use when it is at or below your waist level)

Congratulations!!! I have the Accuquilt Studio and love, love, love it!! I suggest you start with the dies that suit the type of quilting you do the most and add on from there.

[quote=All Thumbs]As for the matts which cover the blades, someone said the white ones wear much longer. I can see that from what little I have used the grey one compared to the white one. They do have to be replaced from time to time depending upon how much you use them.

White ones? Where do find them? I've only seen the gray ones.

JoanneS. I am not sure since I have not had to replace any of my mats at this point. The white one came with the long stripping cutter but the rectangle came with the grey mat. It has bowed and tunneled the cut marks already and I have not used it as much as the stripper. But when the time comes, I will email Accuquilt, who I might add are immediate in responding to questions. More of us need to buy American products and keep our jobs here. I truly support this company and anything else that carries our flag. (Hum-m, I think I will start a link as to how many things we use in our home that is made in America, if that is allowed--better check with Admin first.)

I know nothing about die-cutters, but Fantabulous winning that and being able to see your design, along with everyone else, on the side of a barn!!

Now that I think about it, the strips will be harder to spread the use on, because you can't rotate the mat. You CAN move it from side to side and use the back.

I've had very good luck with the square mat - have not had to replace one yet, because I'm careful to NOT cut over and over in the exact same place. I try to change the angle and move the die a little bit, as well as to rotate it and use the back.
