Doll quilts

What makes a doll quilt- size? If so what is the correct size? Are Doll Quilts and miniature Quilts the same thing? If not, what is the difference ?

not all doll quilts are miniature quilts---not all miniature quilts are doll quilts-
doll quilts can be in many sizes- often a person will make a little girl a quilt- then a smaller (matching one) for their favorite doll. sometimes they are made specifically for a doll cradle- or a specific doll..,there are no (rules) there are antique doll quilts that are made from any number of traditional blocks- appliqued ones, pieced ones.....there is as much variety as there are in large-bed quilts- there are people who collect doll quilts- finding it easier (and less expensive) to own some beautiful quilts on a smaller (easier to display, store) scale. if you check the pictures section and the doll quilt swap here on the board you will find square ones, rectangles, fairly large ones & itty bitty ones.

I made a doll quilt for a swap and used the size 20x20. The doll quilt I received was about 24x24. I use the doll quilt I received as a wall hanging in my family/sewing room.
