domestic machine on LA frame
 

I know this can be done, my question is how do you power the machine. slide the foot peddle along the floor as you go? Is there an adapter? I have looked on line but only find pictures of the machines, not how you run them. hanks for any help you an give.

My friend who has this setup has a machine that will run with an on/off button in addition to the foot pedal, but I'm sure that lots of folks have this setup with a machine without that option. If you are purchasing a new machine, you might want to look for this feature.

I know someone who sewed a sort of shoulder holster to hold her controller. It keeps the controller between her side and her upper arm so all she has to do is squeeze it to run her machine.

Speed Control from the Grace Company, I have one on my Viking Mega Quilter (not the 18x8)
Plugs into same spot where foot control plugs in, and control is attached to handle on carriage.

dial controls stitching speed when turned on, not a regulator. Pulse button starts stitching and continues while button is held down. On/Off button starts and stops stitching, does not have to be continually pushed.

I have a control box that plugs into where the foot would go. I don't use the foot anymore just the box which has an off/on switch as well as a pulse button. I have the Janome 1600 p on a Grace frame.

Bear in mind that the area you can quilt at one time is the space between your needle and the machine head. I have one and use it, but it quilts small areas at a time.
