Either idea, which ever you can live with. Welcome to my world of oops, still I am sorry for your problem.

Alicat what a great tip, as I like to work on a two or three projects at once this will be a great help, thanks.

Thanks for all the feed back. I think I will add the small border carolaug suggested. I think I have enough fabric from each block to do that.

I think I would take the blocks apart and re-sew them. If that doesn't work, I would re-make them. I had this problem when I used 2 different machines one time. Lesson learned, whatever machine you start with, use it to do the whole project. I would think that that rule would apply to rulers as well. Good luck!

I would probably sash them too, but depending on the block, if that looked weird, i would redo them. If it were the other way around and you were trimming just 2 blocks, I would do that, but I would hesitate to trim so many blocks.

Good luck!

I would redo the blocks , if you must do a " fix" make at least one more block match the " fix"..they will fit into the finished quilt better..uneven always looks better and will not stick out as much...hope this makes sense..:-)

I also need lots of notes because I adjust the needle to get the correct seam width but since two adjustments are so close to the same size it is sometimes hard to remember the one I used.

I put a border on them and they look fine. I will do one more like that so that I have the odd number as suggested by nyleve. Hope I can find enough fabric to do one more. Thanks all.

Ditto! It was probably your re-setting of your needle that threw off these 2 blocks.

I have a same problem and haven't decided how to fix it. I probably won't be able to sleep at night unless I do over two 18" blocks. :(

I have a book on setting orphan blocks that suggests framing every block to a universal size. Some will have a frame a quarter inch wider than the others, but in the quilt, you won't notice it.
