to your nearest Hobby Lobby. I just got a killer deal. The Edmunds quilting frame with stand for $1.08 (reg. $69.99) and the extension for queen/king for $.88 (reg 18.99). I don't know how to hand quilt and now I don't have a reason not to try it. I was talking to the lady and she said they were discontinued. Now all I have to do is finish a top!

what a score!

Good for you!! I only hand quilt and you will find it very relaxing. :D

Ducky 06-06-2009 05:00 PM

Dang! It's Saturday night, and they're closed on Sundays. I'll see if there's anything left on Monday!

They also had a boat load of quilting books on clearance. I went to get a rubber stamp so I can stamp so velvet. I'm attaching a photo. It's kinda hard to see. The velvet i'm using is dark green, I got 2 yards for $3 at a thrift store, otherwise I would have used dark red velvet. I plan to make a christmas tree skirt.

WOW! What a deal!
I never find deals like that...wonder why?
Oh yea, cuz I live on a pebble, dang it!

kwhite 06-06-2009 06:54 PM

The Hobby Loby that is being built 52 miles from me is not open yet.

BellaBoo 06-06-2009 07:16 PM

I doubt the closest Hobby Lobby to me will have them. They never had more than one on the shelf. I've noticed most quilting items at Hobby Lobby are getting thinned out as well as most needlework supplies. I'm stocking up on project items like elastic, cord, trims, buttons, and such. No place left to buy that local.

WOW ! What a deal I will have to try them Monday night and see what mine has... Never my luck though  I think all the employees buy the great deals :?

WOW, that is like 99.95% off, I did the math! For that kind of money you don't even have to like it!
Wish I had read the board earlier today, I will be stopping on my way to work on Monday.

Wow -- that's a great bargain!!

And I think all Hobby Lobbies are closed on Sundays...but I might have to find my way there tomorrow

Yeah, all Hobby Lobby's are closed on Sunday. It's funny, I know they are closed but I always seem to end up there sitting in an empty parking lot! I've always found great bargins there. I tend to only buy clearance items (I want more bang for my buck) so nothing in my stash matches. haha

Well I went to my Hobby Lobby today. Finally found the frame that was on clearance , but it was still 26.00 . I will wait and see if it goes any lower, but thanks for the heads up

All hobby Lobby stores are not created equal! My sister gets great deals in LR that are not availble to me here in St. Louis. I still go there, but I really like to shop the one in LR when I visit her!

I don't have a Hobby Lobby near by - but am glad you were able to get such a good buy. :!: :!: :!: I too hand quilt it is my peaceful time of the night. One helpful thing I found - a finger cot on my pointer finger helps to pull the needle thru easy. Walmart had them in differant sizes in one package but a pharmacy has small-medium-large sizes seperatly.

OHSue 06-11-2009 03:54 PM

Well I didn't find a quilting frame at my Hobby Lobby, but I did find some great buys on fabrics. Their already low prices were 30% off. The fabric they had was mixed, some was LQS quality, but some a bit guazy. I did get some great finds.

crkathleen 06-11-2009 04:05 PM

I went yesterday and got Debbie Mumms "Seasons" quilting book for $2.57 and some Northcott fabric for $3 a yard!

AnnaK 06-15-2009 10:16 AM

Do you know which model it is that is being discontinued? I know Edmunds makes several. I'd like to see what it looks like . Hope it's not too late.
