Double Gauze
Someone gifted me a 50 in wide x 15 yard roll of Shannon double gauze in white. Any suggestions as to what to make and any tips for working with it would be greatly appreciated.

Could you make a tubular scarf, maybe use as backing of burp cloths if you need any for little ones. I’m not sure what this is but I think I’ll Google to see if I can see. I’ll be thinking…also new moms like those gauze receiving blankets….

It makes a wonderful swaddle blanket. Just hem the edges. Most people like them square.
When you cut it, cut on the woven in lines. There's no other way to cut it straight. |

I found this- I like the idea of a swimsuit cover up.

I love the way it feels, but I did NOT enjoy sewing with it. It has a life of its own!
Although I had starched it per suggestions on a video I watched, it wiggles and moves everywhere. Super soft in the end, though, and the quilts held up really well to many, many washings (I made baby quilts for our twin grandsons). |
Some ideas for double gauze - there is a blog and did a search to find. Some used other colors, but why not solid??

I used cotton double gauze to make a ring sling.
I also cut lengths of it, serge the edges, and make personalized milestone blankets by decorating with HTV that I cut on my Cricut. |
