I am thinking of making a quilt that is double sided, i.e. quilt blocks/pattern on both sides and not "backing" the quilt--as the "backing" would be the other quilt. Is this a real NO NO in the quilting world? I was thinking of a random stipple for the quilting of it. Thoughts, hints, ideas---send them all my way. Thank You!!!

I think it's a great idea! Let us know how it goes.

That would adapt readily to some quilt-as-you-go methods, too.

I think that is a grand idea. I did that with the butterfly baby quilt. I made for my cousin. She can use either side. Same material just put together differently. Bonnie

I think it is a wonderful idea and have considered it myself for a sampler quilt/s I am now making - two sampler quilts, one using fall colors and one using Christmas colors. Keep us informed and we want pictures!

I was thinking about this one the other day. I think it would be a great idea.

I don't think there are any "no-no's" in quilting. It's a spectacular idea! Two quilts in one!

I have a WIP that's a reversable quilt-as-you-go quilt that is lighter fabrics on the front and darker fabrics on the back. It's done in 9 1/2 inch blocks that are hooked together with sashing. Half the block is a triangle and the other half is strips. I'm making it to donate to Relay for Life to raffle so I wanted to try something to appeal to a lot of people so I did one side with lighter fabrics and the other side with dark ones. It was super easy and a lot of fun to do. If you want, I will try to find the book where I found the idea.
