Has anyone tried his pattern for this quilt. I want to make the quilt and an searching for the easiest of the patterns to use. I understand his is all machine sewn. any info you can give me would be appreciated. TY Denise

I have the book, I have the dies... and they've been sitting on my shelf for 2 years. He showed me at a quilt show and it looked easy enough to do, since (I think) you sew the segments together like normal, then resew parts on a slight angle to get the curve... something like that

Sewing curved pieces together takes practice. The absolute easiest DWR pattern I've ever seen is Rings That Bind by Cheryl Phillips. http://phillipsfiberart.com She has the arc ease tool on her site but it looks like you'll have to shop around for the book or look at the demo she did for Simply Quilts. There are 4 different videos, I believe, and at one time there was a single page with directions.

I took John Flynn's class and also a class from a shop on Cheryl Phillips book I do think that the rings that bind are the easiest a class would be very helpful but if you could find a video would be great I had a little trouble figuring out the instructions until I did a hands on thing then was fairly easy

If you want the Rings that bind book order now because it is out of print and some places are already out of it.

Quiltmaker has a pattern (the one referenced in Eleanor Burns book) that uses fusible to put the archs in place. I used it for the quilt in my avatar. It went together pretty fast as WR quilts go.

I took a class where we used Rings That Bind. It was fun. There were only 3 or 4 of us at the shop in the class. What was funny was that many quilters came in and saw what we were making and told us they wish they had signed up too but that the cover of the book was too off-putting. We each used our own colors. Some of us used this method with a quilt-as-you go style so we had ours completed fairly fast.

I like John Flynn's way, too. My disclaimer is that at one time I taught math, so that is why I liked it. It made sense to me.
