Double wedding ring quilt?
 

Was asked by a good friend to make her son a DWR quilt for the wedding this year but luckily no time limits. After we got together it was decided that the arcs will be one fabric so I don't have to sew all the little pieces. It really scares me to make this quilt, even though it is one of my favorites. Have looked a bit on line for tutorials and do have Eleanor Burns book using iron on fusible. Any and all suggestions in making this quilt will be so very much appreciated. Thanks.

Good luck with your DWR. They are beautiful quilts. I'm working on one that is all pieced. Find the technique that works for you!

I'm also lucky enough to have a reason to make a DWR quilt. I'm using 10 fabrics for my arcs and I'm using the paper piecing method for the first time and I LOVE IT!!!!! Everything is so accurate without measuring.

I have not made one, it is on my list. Have fun with it.

I made one using the Rings that Bind book. It was easy and fast to make but uses a lot of fabric. The book has been republished and comes with the acrylic template.

May I ask which paper piecing method are you using?

I used the method in the Egg Money Quilts book to make a scrappy 1930's reproduction double wedding ring. It was really pretty easy.

This video show Eleanor Burns' new take on it with each arc being solid like you are thinking. Skim trough it and see what you think.

I too used the Rings That Bind method. I liked it because it was a sort of QAYG project. No need to pay for quilting or extra time at the end. Once you get the rhythm of it it goes really quickly.

I agree. Take you time and PLEASE don't rush the process. This is one picky quilt where accuracy will count. Good Luck !!
