If you can cut the pieces with your Go, they will be accurate which will make piecing it easier. I might use scrap fabric that matches my kitchen and make a DWR table runner first to work out any problems I might have.

Glad to know about the tutorial. I will watch it. I have been trying to read and watch tutorials whenever I can to learn more about the process. My internet is so bad here that I haven't watched all that is available. Good luck with your quilt.
I have also been inspired to make one after seeing one at a quilt show earlier this year. It was a Judy Niemeyer pattern and was beautiful.

This would be my go-to method for a newbie, and I just may undo my UFO and try it.
The Quilt Patch DWR with fusible

I am not sure what will measure 11.5in, a square block as in the video, or the size of the ring, but I have made up a 101x101" quilt in EQ7, and it says you will need 10 fabrics at least 1yd each, and 12+ yds of background fabric. My UFO is for a double bed and used a yard of each coloured fabric.
Hope it helps some, and do show us what you do.

Hi I am new to this Forum, I have the accuquilt Go Big and bought the die for the 11 1/2 X 11 1/2 inch Double wedding Ring. I was wondering if anyone has made this in a king size quilt and if you figured out the yardage for it. I would like to use a solid for the melons and the squares and then 30 repro for the small pieces. I have 4 packs of 5 inch Repro. but before I do anything I would like to know if anyone has any ideas on fabric amounts. Thank you very much, Dabz

The accuquilt dies usually have a pattern attached to the die.

Dabz - EQ7 is a fabulous computer program where you can make up your own designs and quilt blocks, It will tell you how much fabric you need, choose colors, print out templates for each block or save as a pdf, and more. The latest one out is EQ8, which does still more, but is a different format.
Here is the website - do watch the video.

EQ8

I want to say I'm currently working on a DWR but truthfully it has intimidated me into a state of suspension. I bought the templates from Marti Michell and the instruction book comes with fabric requirements. Here's what it says for a 101" square finished size.

For 64 centers and 144 melons = 6 yards (5.5 m)
For 288 arcs = 8 yards (7.3 m)
For 288 ends = 3/4 yard (70 cm)
For 316 - 324 ends = 7/8 yard (80 cm) You would use this if you are "filling the outer rings" with ends

My quilt pieces will be fussy cut as I'm using specialty fabric. I've photocopied the fabric so I can practice with the most effective cuts. After some false starts, I am making a sampler DWR with scrap material because the curves are killing me. Keep us posted on your progress!
