Double Wedding Ring Short-cuts

I know I probably shouldn't be planning a new quilt when I'm still chipping away on UFOs, but I found some plastic templates and instructions for Double Wedding Ring quilt at a garage sale. The instructions offer the "shortcut " of strip piecing the arches. Has anyone tried this?

The only DWR I made was the ultimate shortcut way. I used the Rings that Bind method. It won 1st place at the state fair about ten years ago.

The template set and instructions I have suggest the shortcut of sewing one long seam to join several rounds in one go. kind of like sewing a sine curve. Is that what you mean? I tried but was not coordinated enough to manage so many joints and did better just joining rings one at a time. I would love suggestions to make the DWR. I've only done a sampler before tackling a full quilt and the point where the large center tucks into where the two arches meet wants to pucker, disappear, or seem not fully sewn.
It did occur to me when wrestling with those curves that I learned to sew making clothing and have inset multiple sleeves which is curve sewing but the DWR seems harder somehow.

I tried the Rings that Bind, but my blocks wouldn't fit together very well so now it's a UFO.

I took a class for Rings That Bind. I didn't remember having too much trouble with it. It's a great way to make a pillow top. I remember some of the people in the class making a template smaller than what came with the book to make the blocks smaller. I thought those looked very good and seemed to be less fussy.

I bought the set that Donna Jordan used (can't think of the name of it) but I had trouble with that darn thing. It looks okay but still in my UFO pile.

I forgot I had the DWR Accuquilt two die set. All the match points are on the shapes so it may be a lot easier to sew. I haven't used it yet.
