What do you do to prevent the V shape on strips cut with June Tailor Shape Cut ruler? :?:
I know we need to take care when folding the fabric to be cut, but do you have any specific advise? TY in advance! Sylvia  |
I press down on the ruler when I cut. especially at the beginning and the ends.
|
you must have a good fold and the ruler even with the fold to prevent the V.
|
Fold carefully make sure u line up the end and cut it straight. I put little dots of sandpaper to keep it from sliding I've also heard u can use hot glue dots from glue guns. Good luck and keep up posted!!

When folding your fabric for cutting, hold it up and let fall naturally. Then even up the edge and then make your strips. The "V" is from the fabric not being on grain when cut.

the V is caused from the fold not being straight...on grain- if the fabric is twisted at all you will not get a good cut.
when folding your fabric it is normal for the salvages to be (off) you can cut them straight after you have a nice straight fold...dont line up the salvage edges to make your fold...the salvages are not straight |
TY all, my dearest friends! I'll follow both tips!
