Downton Abbey Quilt Along - anyone doing it?

Never heard of it. Where can it be found?

This isn't free. I like to use my stash or I probably would have signed up. I love Downton Abbey.

First time I've heard of it. Guess this project is a mystery quilt? Love the fabrics, does anyone know who has the best prices on this line of fabrics?

Doggramma 12-22-2014 08:47 AM

I have Downton Abbey fabrics, but not the ones being used for the quilt along. So I'm not participating. I can't wait for the new season of the show to start.

It's $23.95 and I would bet there is no quilt police that could tell if you used your own fabric, since the sponsors aren't selling the fabric this time!

I've never done a mystery quilt, and I'm a pretty new quilter

There is plenty of free ones around. I wouldn't pay that kind of money for a mystery quilt.

I love the show but I wasn't that impressed with the collection. Good Luck and have fun.

My thought exactly, but I thought it was just me.....glad to know there are others.

As far as this mystery quilt thing from love bug studio...btw, she is the author of the die cutting book...forgot title right now...Ebony Love, is her name.......what is the fee for? Logging onto site for monthly pattern? I have never done one....do they all have a start up fee?????

I am! Team Cora! Last years quilt was Spectacular- I'm working on it (but I just started). Going to keep up this year! May not be free, but well worth the money ! I'm really beginning to get excited!

I agree, but I saw a pattern that screams Downton Abbey Fab.........Cleopatras Fan.....That's my next BIG project

And now I'm being sent on a business trip to Germany and will miss the big kickoff and first episode of the new season - well not "miss" but definitely be a week behind :-(

I've signed up for Team Rose. I ordered my fabric online from Fabric Depot. They're having a sale right now. I'm excited to begin. It makes me want to finish up some other projects before I start.

I am on team Carson too. The fat quarter shop has kits also. I have never done a mystery quilt. I have great expectations.

I'm thinking about joining, but will be using my own fabric. I really like the first block and I can totally understand a designer charging for her pattern & being there to answer questions along the way. There are tons of free ones, there are also ones that charge a small fee. I'm pretty frugal, but there are 2 I am thinking about paying for (I'll use my own fabrics tho, always). I don't even watch the show, just love the first block.

Ebony's support is easily worth the fee. She's doing a Webinar each week where you can ask questions. She's also making it really fun. We're going to have choices in the blocks we make in the coming weeks.
