While looking thru the free quilt patterns in several places I found a butterfly block that looked like it was made out of a variation of the Dresden Plate pattern. It was very old-timey looking.

Now, I can't find it. (I should have printed it.) Anyone have a clue what site has it?

Check your browser....it may list the places you visited. If not, I have a couple of block books that may have it.

Nina, I love the wisdom and insight of the ark / Titanic "tag line". That one's going onto my cubicle wall @ work.

I'm surrounded by "experts".

Marty Michelle has a dresden plate butterfly pattern out with her set of dresden templates, they are very easy and should be avaiavle at your local quilt shop or on line, they come in several different sizes. Our local shop has sold out several times and needed to reorder so I'm sure they are currently still available. Good luck.

e-Patterns.com also has a pattern for the dresden butterfly....and only $.99! Not bad.

Nina, I think I found it. Scroll down near the end of the page. Sorry it's a flower not a butterfly. But you get the idea. Put on you're thinking cap, I'm sure you can create your own.

Found it! I was probably calling the pattern style the incorrect thing.

I'll try to get a block done after the Hatch Chili Festival in August - gotta get my ceramic products done for it or won't have anything to sell --- and less to spend on my quilting! If anyone puts together this block I'd love to see it.

Got a nice bonus at work and went out and bought the Brother SE270 machine. The place where I purchased it includes 3 machine classes and 4 embroidery classes at no extra charge. Been playing with it already and I absolutely love it! Even better, they only had their floor model left in stock and sold it to me for $400 less than they normally charge. Warranty and all is as if came brand new from box. Talk about being in the right place at the right time! My other machine just ran out of its warranty of 25 years. Still works fine, though.

Countdown to retirement - 6 months and one week!

Nina,
I can see you are anticipating your retirement. You are going to LOVE it. Be sure you have everything done that needs to be finished (quilts excluded) BEFORE you retire because, I'm here to tell you, after you retire there is just no time. Time does speed up and there is just so very much to do and see.
