I recently completed a Dresden Plate quilt for my granddaughter. I used yoyos for the centers of the plates. Now it has come to quilting time! Any suggestions how to quilt or quilt around these centers. Will they squash if sewn over. I will quilt it on a long arm so can't be as careful as if doing by hand. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Avoid those yo yos like the plague!

Franie, thanks for the laugh, I was afraid of that, I could take all of them off and replace with flat circles but really don't want to. This is for a 25 year old young lady in her first home and I think she will take very good care of it.

Quilt first then add yo-yo's. You will have to cover the openings to quilt however. Maybe someone else will have a better idea.
