I used it once, just like many others, and it worked. I do prefer the June Tailor spray, though. One thing I have learned with all spray adhesives is to let the layers sit and dry for a few hours (overnight, preferably). That eliminated any 'gummed up' anything for me.

I have used it .. no problems..do use it sparingly , let it sit for a minute to get tacky then apply the next layer. Less is better than more!

Judie, I like your '2 bits worth for the day'. Makes sense. I always try to use in well ventilated area.
Kerry, I have not tried Dritz so cannot help you there but I do like the deal for 505 at Fabric.com. Thanks MYWR. |
I have used 505 and have had success. Thanks to everyone for the good tips about spray basting. I didn't know about letting it dry before trying to quilt it and also didn't know you were supposed to spray the batting I have wondered why sometimes my needle would gum up and sometimes it wouldn't. I guess I didn't let it dry. Will do that from now on.

I've used every spray out there and really cant tell much difference between any of them. If you're leary do a test square to see how you like it.

I have used several kinds of basting sprays and the only one that I find that does not gum up my needle is 505 spray. I never have to use pins and I hang mine up on the wall after spraying if I did not feel like quiiting it at that moment. i use the 50 percent off coupon a joanns, but you can only buy it on line they do not carry it in the store. Martin Fabrics carries it in the stores but its 12.99 and they do not have coupons.

Thank you for all the helpful replies! I have learned from you about spray basting! Actually, I have learned so much from you all about everything! Thanks bunches!

I've tried others but the only one I like is 505. It costs more but it works without gumming up my needle and coming loose.

this week...Joanns has 505 spray on sale for 5.99 on line...I bought 6 cans and used the 10 percent coupon NGSP316 and it worked...so even cheaper. shipping was 6.98
