Dritz Ceramic Marking Pencil
 

I can not figure out how to refill it with a new lead. I tried google, all I can find is "remove top and fill barrel". OK, how simple is that?? Lead slides in, but does not come out when pressing the top multiple times. Any hints??

This might not help but my mechanical Pentel pencil separates in the middle. The top is usually controls the eraser. Maybe the green part unscrews or releases???

Does is just slide in where the other one comes out? I don't have the pen but some of the mechanical pencils do it that way. It is odd they don't have instructions on the back. If all else fails, send them an email and ask.

Sometimes mechanical pencils got thin lead stuck inside and I would insert a pin or a straightened paper clip in the tip toward the body of the pencil to dislodge the jam. I wonder if yours is plugged up. Try running a paperclip up the tip and see if there is a jam to unclog.

I use this pen all the time. By top, they mean the eraser end. Pull off (or unscrew) the eraser end and drop in another piece of ceramic "lead." Close it up again and click the eraser end.

I can offer no help, but am curious about this item. You are obviously using it to mark quilt tops, but how do you remove the markings? There is so much discussion about marking quilts ... which marks iron away, which ones wash away, which ones just go away, etc! LOL You have piqued my interest in this, so would appreciate any information.

You probably need to just add more lead to the fill /refill end.

Eraser end and click forever. Probably not much help but that is what I do with my mechanical pencils.

I have a Sewline pencil with rotating point for 3 different leads. On Thanksgiving, 3 mechanically inclined men tried to refill the white section for me. After a long time with each one trying different methods, it is still has no white lead

Do you put the new lead in the hole at the bottom. Press button at top as if releasing a lead and hold down. Now push new lead in. That is how my sew fine works.

Thank you, DOTTYMO. I don't know how the guys tried doing it, but it didn't work. I did as you said and it's perfect now. Yay, I can use it now. It's my favorite marker.
