There are also Bloc-loc acrylic templates for cutting and then a template for use after sewing the pieces to square the blocks up. I have just finished 382 4" blocks with little frustration. They have templates in various sizes.

I used a ruler called an Easy Circle Cut by Sharon Hultgren with slots in it for the correct size. Used with a small rotary cutter, it was a perfect solution. I cut more accurately with slots to guide my cutter.

I love the drunkard path and am making one now. I hand piece mine. I find it very relaxing.I mark my pattern off on a piece of poster board or cereal box or any other card board that is thin, yet sturdy. I cut out the template and begin marking my pieces. Usually I con my DH into cutting them for me. But, he doesn't mind. Its a good job to have while watching tv. While he is cutting, I beginning sewing. You just start at one side and work your way around. No pulling or stretching and it generally comes out just fine.

Elise' Backporch Designs has various sizes. I have a set with the block finishing at 8" and also a set with block finishing at 7-1/2". The larger blocks are easy to sew. I usually cut a tiny notch in the center of each piece, pin that point and sew. Since I do a lot of charity quilts I can do many blocks quickly.

I am about to make one using the Bloc-loc 6" template. You can get a perfect block at every curve...love their stuff!!!! Also, the curvemaster foot helps if you are nervous about easing it to fit! They adapt to about any machine.
