My iron is sticky from a price sticker. I read that some use a dryer sheet to clean the soleplate of an iron. Is the dryer sheet used or new and is the iron hot or cold? Thanks in advance :)

No clue, but rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball will remove "sticky" from just about anything, including a cold iron. We use a little alcohol wipe in the hospital to help remove "sticky" left on the skin from bandage tape.

I use a clean, used dryer sheet with my iron set on "cotton". Works like a charm and I just toss the dryer sheet afterwards because it's not really good for anything after that.

Clean, used dryer sheets also work great for crazy blocks! I just make a bunch then trim to what ever size I want.

You can use one of the Mr. Clean white sponges to clean your iron.

I use Mr. Clean's sponges to clean my iron. That was month's ago because now I am extremely careful with my iron--it seems my iron and cutting mat are always getting dirty and stained.
Also, I paint on the used dryer sheets with Tsukineko fabric paints -- saw it on Quilting Arts. It's really easy and adds a bit of oompf and texture to an abstract piece.
