Just received my kit from Connecting Threads for this project. Has anyone made it? I find the directions to be difficult. How do you pick your colors? How did you do it? I am afraid to cut up some of the beautiful fabrics and then end up not having enough or some other castrophy. Any suggestions?

I did it once, for a neighbor who was expecting. I had a cheaters panel, so I believe yours is different.
I choose from the colors that where in the panel. Made it more lively though.

I also used the ducks to make a quilting pattern. It turned out to be so cute. The neighbor loved it!

just don't wash the fabrics before you cut them.
lay out your fabric and do some measurements to see how many pieces you can get out of them. hopefully the pattern tells you how to lay out and cut the pieces from the fabrics in the kit. not all do. good luck.

I used 30's prints to do mine. It really wasn't too hard to do. Here is a pix. The pattern is in Kim Diehl's book Simple Seasons. I lloked at connecting threads and this is the same pattern or at least it looks that way.

with just 2 sides done.
