Dumb question

I need a little help please. I am a little new to quilting. I have inherited 48 blocks that are 10 1/2 inches wide and 11 1/2 inches tall. Can some one tell me if this is enough to make a queen size quilt? I am not sure how to figure this.
Thank you for the help.

Laying them out in a grid of 6 rows and 8 columns, one would have 60" wide X 88" long finished with no sashes or borders. Hope this helps you.

I understand. Thanks.
Will have to add some sashing to make up the difference.
Ever have one of those days where you can't seem to wrap your head around what you need to figure out?
It's been one of those days. LOL
Thanks again for the help.

I'm no expert but if you took a picture of the blocks laid out the way Adamae suggested and showed the board members, they may be able to suggest whether you should put sashing or borders to make the size larger. With Adamaes calculations the quilt would be too narrow for queen.

How large is a queen generally? I have found some sites that say different things.
Is there enough blocks to make it long enough?
I will try to take photos of them soon and post them.

A 'standard' queen size mattress is 60 inches wide by 80 inches long.

Then one needs to take into account how much one wants it to hang over the sides - - - or if you put the quilt over or under your pillows - - -

Yes washing with the border will make a queen. The border will depend on how far you want it to hang down.
