I bought Dunster's pattern a while back. I had it out looking at it . I was wondering if anyone has done or is doing this in a scrappy version? I would love to see all of the WIP as well as finished projects of this pattern scrappy or not :-D
Thanks,
Rae

I had to search for the pattern to see, it is a really cute design

Oooooh, I bet it would be real pretty as a scrappy design, but you'd need to be real careful about color value so you can see the stars. I hope you do one!

I am not real great with colors that is why I do simple scrappy quilts but this pattern just keeps calling my name lol.

Rae, I just found out about her pattern and am ordering it from her. It's really beautiful, I don't know how it took me so long to realize she had one. I hate missing stuff LOL

Yes...that is the one I bought awhile ago. Currently, I'm still collecting fabrics for it and will probably start it this fall.

Hi all - I am currently in England, hoping to head up to Scotland eventually. Yesterday afternoon (same day we landed in Manchester) my husband took a tumble down a grassy slope and landed face-first on a gravelly path. We spent several hours at the hospital getting X-rays, care for his cuts and scrapes on face, hands, and knees, concern about his concussion, etc. He was foggy-thinking for an hour or more, didn't remember wy we were in England or recognize the people we were with. It was worrisome, and I thought we might have to come back home sooner than expected, but he was feeling somewhat better this morning, so we've decided to find a restful hotel to stay a few nights and not attempt to see the sights until he's more steady on his feet. When I checked email this morning I had several requests for patterns from members of the board. I think I answered all the pm's, but just wanted to say that I do have patterns available, but will not be able to send them out until we get back home June 7. I haven't figured out yet why there were so many requests all of a sudden, so clue me in if you know what caused the sudden interest.

To answer the original question, I think scrappy would be great. I have wanted to do one that way, probably using the same color in each ring but with different fabrics, but another way would be to make each diamond in one color, or just go scrappy all over. As long as it's done with keeping value in mind, I think it would look great. But then I really love scrappy quilts.

Well considering this post has almost 500 views I would assume people are opening the post and just now seeing the pattern (via the link provided ^^^^^) and deciding that they NEED it. LOL As long as its good for business, whatever! Right?

raedar63 05-10-2011 08:39 AM

I guess I stirred up some business LOL

I am getting some things organized, and destashing as soon as I get this done I plan to start a scrappy version of this quilt. This will be the most presice quilt I have undertaken but I just have to do it. My three favorite things, Stars, scraps and log cabins all rolled into one :!:
