That's the way it works with anything. We learn as we go and grow in knowledge/experience.

I purposely do this! No repeats for me at all. How else can I become a better and more versatile quilter??? For Christmas, I made each of my very forgiving sisters and mother something totally out of my comfort zone - practicing up for different different different! I'm finding what I like and don't like.

I'm like compulsivequilter. I have a list of new things I want to try so when I'm done one project I randomly choose one of these to try next...unless of course that unbelievably gorgeous idea comes into my head and I need to work on that one right away LOL!

Oh, I so agree! It's nice to have variety, too --- because I can get bored if I do too many of the same thing over and over again.

It's a constant learning process. With each quilt I learn new short cuts that improve my how I make quilts.
