If you want to do geometric, a very easy one is just to go diagonally across from corner to corner, then repeat at the desired intervals parallel to your original X. This can be straight lines or wavy lines, whichever you like best.

If I were to quilt this, I would do a FM and pick out one of the flowers that is in the quilt and do that, with a loop in between the flowers. I would use a darker color thread so it would show up better.

Is it hard to do something like that? It just looks really complicated and time consuming.

Not really. Just mark up your top with say the clamshells (soft curves), use a walking foot and go slow. Then you could even do waves in your solid pieces. Just try to stop your machine in needle down to make turning at the end easier.

Remember always to try to learn something new. Don't just stay in the box because of a fear. Go for it!!!!
