Railroad crossing is fun and easy. 3D Bowtie is very simple. there are many out there that just take 2 fabrics.

I like that one better with at least three fabrics.

"hole in the wall" A square of one colour surrounded by a sashing of the other colour. Use three rows. The top and bottom are 3 1/2" by 6 1/2" long. The middle strip is a middle block that's 3 1/2" square with a side piece of the outside colour big enough so that strip measures 6 1/2" finished length. Then piece the three rows together with the center block being the other colour.

This is the one I was thinking of. It really looks nice with just the two colors alternating.

I am currently piecing a 3D bow tie quilt top. Here's some of the blocks. I was using a kit of 3 1/2" squares that I picked up at my charity quilt group; I was having fun.

Has many different block patterns. If you go to the alphabetical listing of blocks and look for one yellow pin, those will be the easier patterns.
