this one not the other one...sorry I posted the wrong one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbt_A...feature=relmfu the drunken path...this way looks soooo easy...no curves |
I've seen that tutorial and thought about it, too. She does make it look fast and easy, doesn't she?

I have the studio and the 10 inch die and the 6 1/2 inch circle die...so this will be a breeze...I just need to finish my other quilt...should be done this weekend. I am making a queen tumbler quilt.

How cool that is!!
|
I am also thinking if I use fusible first sew around the circle and turn it inside out than place it on the square...like how Eleanor Burn does it....that way there is no raw edges.....hmmm...the ideas are flowing

I have made some things I have seen on that site. She is just full of ideas.

I Posted the wrong one...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbt_A...feature=relmfu this is the drunken path...that is the one I want to make...the other one is a some day quilt.

I am working on one right now done the second way. However I am not using the layer cake, I am using yarage same idea though. It makes it SUPER easy! and no sewing curves. lol
|
What a great idea!
|
I can't wait to try it!! I have a rule...I have to finish one top before I start another...and only can have two tops...undone. that way it helps to modivate me.

I didn't quite catch everything but think she used two pieces of each fabric to get the pieces needed for the project. I was wondering if you could cut them out clean enough (for those who have die cutters) put an oversized piece of fusible web behind the opening for the circle. Then you could swap the circles from one fabric to the other and fuse in place. You could sew the circles to the contrasting fabric square with a stitch that would join the two. Then cut into fourths. Would only use half as much fabric that way.

Thanks for the link! Just put it on my to do list!

Eleanor Burns has an easy version of that pattern also. It's listed under the name "Old Maid's Puzzle" because there was a superstition about "Drunkard's Path". http://quiltinaday.com/theater/egg/egg5.html
