Does anyone recall a long time ago on simply quilts they had a guest that had a easy technic for the wedding ring quilt?
I am looking for an easy wedding ring quilt Thanks Gail |
There's a quilt magazine that just came out in the last month or two that has a really easy paper piece method and templates to use. If your interested in that let me know and I'll look at home to find the issue and let you know. it should still be on stands.

I don't but I will be watching to see if anyone does remember, I'd love to get started in making one myself.. good luck

I think that was Cheryl Phillips, Rings That Bind? It has templates and good directions.

Rickie Tims?

PatriceJ did a wedding ring quilt along on this site a couple of years ago and then followed with a tutorial. Check it out at http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-4260-1.htm .

I saw a video where they did their wedding ring as a quilt as you go. They strip pieced all the little prints and cut with an arc shaped template of some kind. Someone on this board posted a link for the video. I couldn't find it when I looked.

It was in McCalls a month or two ago.
|
Pam Bono does an easy one in her books.
|
Also, check out the Eleanor Burns Double Wedding Ring tutorial on Youtube. She pieces the rings, sews them to a thin backing, turns the curved strip inside out, and appliques the pieces to the background fabric. It eliminates all the curved piecing with the melons, etc.
You could still start using the technique described in the above tutorial. |
Welcome to the board from Southern California!!!!

Funny: there were only 3 or 4 of us in the class at a LQS. As we were so few we said it was OK if store patrons came in and looked. They all raved about our different choices and said to a T that they didn't even consider the class because the front of the book showed a WR quilt that non of us liked due to the color combinations used. BTW, that quilt was made for her daughter and was why she choose it. Another reason why LQS's need to display class quilts before the sign ups. ali |
I'm thinking Cheryl Phillips of http://www.phillipsfiberart.com and her book with tool, "Rings That Bind." There used to be a good demo on HGTV's web-site but they've done away with most of those. The wallhanging Cheryl made on the show is there but it's broken up into 3 or 4 parts: http://www.hgtv.com/video/wedding-ri...deo/index.html

I remember when Cheryl Phillips was on Simply Quilts. I recorded it on VCR. I bought the book and the arcs and the plastic templates to do the quilting and gave it to my daughter. She started quilting because I told her I wouldn't make her a DWR, she'd have to make it herself. So I bought her everything she needed except the fabric. 9 quilts later, she has the fabric but hasn't started it yet. That was about 5 years ago.
