ebay featherweight near my house

Someone has a featherweight on Ebay that is very close to my house so I am going to go look at it. I don't know what to look for except to plug it in and see if it works. Any advice would be welcome. You can see it here. If anyone can give me advice on what it is worth I would appreciate that too. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:X:RTQ:US:1123 (not sure if I copied the link right or not) let me know if I messed it up.

I checked the serial number and it is correct for a 1951 Centennial. Make sure the machine has the same number if you win the bid. The pics also show a bobbin case, make sure it's there too. They're about $35 to replace.
I'd plug it in and run the motor for a bit at top speed and see if it loses any power. Other than that the machine is a workhorse. It's very easy to do the maintenance yourself and will run for another 100 years as long as you keep it oiled and lubed. I paid $200 and it's in almost new condition. Good luck. I love mine.

Make sure the handwheel turns and the needle goes up and down. The price is definitely a good one and it looks like it is in pretty good shape and would really shine with a good cleaning and oiling. Will cross my fingers for you. I love mine.

Paid around $300.00 for mine. Looks and works like new. Had been cleaned up before I got it.

Paid $250.00 for one and $225.00 for the other. Seems a good price. The case is in better shape than mine. Check for the things the others have said and I hope you get it if you want.

Twelve years ago I paid $425 for mine, so you are getting it at a good deal.

Once you have a Featherweight, you'll wonder how you ever sewed on anything else! I'm sold!

I won it!! I looked at it the other day and it ran really well and the case looked nice too. My husband is an enabler, he watched the auction and kept encouraging me to bid. We pick it up on Tuesday.
