Egyptian Cotton Thread

Is Egyptian Cotton Thread (Size 50) ok to use for piecing and quilting? Thank you.

Yes, I think so. I use Aurifil 50 wt for all my piecing and most quilting. I like it because it is not linty. You may want to use a heavier thread for free motion quilting if you want your quilting to show.

Yes.
Many of the top thread makers use "Egyptian" cotton because it is a long filament thread.

I use Presencia, which is exactly what this is.

Yes to both.

Aurifil 50wt is 2 ply. Most other 50wt thread is 3 ply. Always check the ply of the thread. It will determine the size needle you need. I use size 80 needle with Aurifil 50 wt. and size 90 with Connecting Threads 50wt.

It is my favorite of all threads and my machine seems to prefer it.
