I have EQ6 and I can navigate pretty well in it. What I don't know, though, is how to convert my EQ stuff to a PDF file or Word document.
I see them all the time on the internet and when I take classes from other people, so I think it must be possible. I'm just ignorant! :-D I often use my own designs when I teach classes, but I don't have a clue how to make the conversion into Adobe or Word or anything. Is there software that I need? A function I'm missing? Can any of y'all help? Thanks so much! Blessings, Mary Lou |
When I am making up instructions for the guild, I click File - Export Marquee Selection - and click and drag for what I want to paste to a word document. I don't have the program to make PDF files.

This post has a couple sites that have free software to create a pdf document.
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-8162-1.htm I have CutePDF. It is also free. (www.CutePDF.com). Type it into your URL. The disadvantage with CutePDF is that it will only do one page at a time. |
If you can print it you can make a PDF of anything. Search for 'CutePDF Writer' When you install this, it installs as a printer. When you want a pdf file Use Print File and pick Cute PDF Writer and a save as window will come up and you pick the file you want it in. Hope this helps.

MaryLou, in EQ6, to print out a quilt (or layout, template - depends on what you're got on your worktable), - first go to File, Printer Setup and select your newly installed CutePDF printer - next, go to File, Print and select what it is you're printing - select the options you're looking for (print just the outline or show it using your fabrics? print size? print patch outline? etc - click OK, and be a tad patient - the computer is generating your new file - you'll next get a dialog box asking you what name and what location you'd like the file to be saved in - enter this information, press enter and you're done! Hope this helps! Linda |
Well, I'm learning something today. Thanks

Oh my word, Linda!
That worked beautifully!!! Who knew it would be so simple. I had myself convinced I'd have to write code or something!! LOL! That'll help me tremendously. I have a class coming up next weekend, and I'll be able to so some things a little more "professionally." I appreciate all the suggestions and comments! Thanks so much! Blessings, Mary Lou |
