Elmer Glue Question

Is it necessary to wash a quilt after using Elmer's glue. I was planning on using it on a wall hanging. I have used it on baby quilts and did wash them.

I am going to use it on my wall hanging and I am not planning on washing it. I don't use it for basting.

I made a wallhanging too and haven't washed it out.

Don't tell anybody, but if it's for myself I don't wash it right away even if it's a throw. Cat and dog hair make it so it'll get washed soon enough anyway; as long as it's not chunky or crunchy (which it usually isn't) I just snuggle under it for a few days before it gets its first wash. I'm lazy like that. ;)

I used Elmer's to baste two quilts recently - diluted - so that may be the problem. On one, you can't tell. On the other - I can see markings from the glue on the backing. As both are quilts, not wall hangings, they will be washed - but you may want to take a look and see if you can see the glue. On the one, I may have over-diluted. Or it could be the backing - which was an old bed spread - so I'm not sure of the fabric content - just that it is sturdy and will work well for a picnic quilt.

Cheers, K
