elmers school glue
 

I was at joann fabrics yesterday just looking around. I came across elmers glue. I looked at the price for just a small bottle and the price was at$2.99. I thought wow elmers glue is expensive. So I walked over to target to pick up my prescriptions and I thought I would check out their price for glue.....SAME SIZED bottle...was 52 cents!! Go figure? So I would say skip the glue at Joanns and buy it at target or walmart. Stock up for the year in case that price is only for back to school. Makes me wonder if they have caught on to us quilters using it instead of pins.

I use to use my Hobby Lobby coupon and buy it by the 12 pack, made it only 30 something cents a bottle. I don't use it too much anymore since I have the longarm.

Try to pick it up at Walmart while they are having their "prepare for the school year sale" -- 2/$1.00. Then don't have to worry about it until the following year!

elmers glue is one of my best friends, I like to use it on bindings,,thanks for the tip.

I read about Elmers's glue on this board and was a bit skeptical. I had three baby quilts to make in two weeks time for a neighbor's baby shower. She's expecting triplets. The first quilt I pinned the batting, backing and top together.
The other two quilts I put together using elmers glue. THANK YOU to all who recommended it. My quilts went together quickly and I was very satisfied with the outcome. Absoluetly no puckers on the back either. I machine quilt using free motion quilting.

For those new glue users I can vouch it does work, I used the glue sparingly, and would suggest you try it on some scraps first to see if you are satisfied with the outcome. I tried both methods of letting it dry and on one quilt I ironed it in. I haven't decided which method I prefer, but both methods work. Again, thanks quilters!

I keep a bottle on my ironing board. It's amazing how a dot of glue will come in handy to keep bias edges from stretching when pressing to holding miter corner in place to matching seams. I use Elmer's Washable School glue somewhere in every quilt I make. I started buying it by the gallon and refilling the bottles.

It is on sale at our Walmart in the back to school section for 50 cents per bottle. (4 oz). The glue sticks are 25 cents each.

hi. i've used glue sticks, but how exactly do you use elmer's liquid glue for quilting, and for what purpose? don't want to sound ignorant, but i've never done this. thanks
