Does anyone have an Elna 740 want to know how you like it??????

If I were planning to purchase a new sewing machine, I probably would not look at Elna. Elna had some great vintage machines, but 15 years ago when I worked in a sewing machine dealership their machines were not good compared to other name brands. I have not heard of any great turn-around in their quality, so Elna would probably be out of the running for me.

Supposedly Elnas are now made by janome so they should now be comparable to a janome

I found the following user reviews:

Seems kind of pricey to me. As a quilter, I would probably prefer a Janome MC-6600-P .

I have an Elna 720 Quilters Pro and have not had any trouble at all with it. Love it for sewing and quilting.
