Thank you all for sharing your thoughts! Instead of spending 150$, I'll ask hubby to make me a big board to put on top of my cutting table like EmiliasNana :-)

[QUOTE=profannie;7702348]Hi there,
I saw a post on Facebook from a local sewing group. Somebody is selling an Elna press 2000 for a great price (150$) and I wonder if it would be useful for me? I'm doing some very large queen size quilt these days and I'm quite struggling with pressing those big piece of fabric. Anyone using something like this for quilting?
Thanks,

I haven't seen your name for a while and I think of you when I go to Montreal. Never saw this " press" for quilting....?

My husband made me a large padded board that fits over my ironing board. I love it for pressing bigger quilt tops. You might want to try something like this. You could even put one on a six foot table. Make sure you adjust the table heights. Just a suggestion. Good luck.

Great pressing station. I would love one of those. Not hard to do either. Great idea!

They are great for pressing kackies and jeans not so great for quilting. I bought one for the same reason you are considering and never thou g h t b it did a good job. I think you would be better off with a new ironing board. By the way, that is not really a good price for a used one, I on l y paid $20 at a church tag sale.

I bought my large board top to fit over the ironing board at a quilt shop that was closing.....I also got the cutting mat to fit on top.....I love it...one of my better purchases.
