I went to singers webiste and emailed them there response was Our records show that serial # 16297125 belongs to Singer Model 15
manufactured on July 6, 1899 in Clydebank, Scotland,
now I want to know how she traveled to the states....

My friend has 2 Singer 221 Featherweights that were manufactured in Scotland as well. The dates are 1951 and 1957. They ended up here in eastern Canada.

I bet your machine came through Ellis Island with her owner and family! My Grandparents came from Scotland to the US. How neat!
