I haven't quilt d on too many embroidered projects and was wondering how you others out there quilt them. This project didn't have a whole lot of embroidery, but I did what I felt could without detracting from my clients work. I haven't done snowflakes For awhile,,, so this was fun! As usual, I love to view the quilting on the reverse side too! Happy looking

You did good. Very good. Are you going to quilt something in the corner posts?

I think you quilting is fine. You have to remember that this is a wall hanging that probably won't be washed too often. I prefer the look of crosshatching for the background.

I think you did a wonderful job.

Wow....just what it needed to showcase the snowman without taking away the focal point!
Beautifully done on both parts!

I do exactly what you did, I go around the outside of the embroidery. If the embroidery is large or hand done and needs the stability of being quilted a little. I use invisible thread and go along the embroidery. In the snowman I would have gone around the sections. But it doesn't look like it was needed. Beautiful quilting!

Really cute, the back looks as good as the front. Nice job.

I always wondered about quilting over embroidery too so searched for others to get ideas. What you did looks great to me. Doesn't take away from the embroidery designs. On mine which was basically a colored redwork design I created a crosshatch to go right across the design. Since I used the same color thread as the background fabric it blended right in. Others have echoed around the design as you did.

The quilting you did on the embroidery project is perfect. I think what is important is to get close to the embroidery and not go over it. You did a beautiful job on it.

You did a perfect job! I especially like how you used the green thread around the pines! And like you, I like to see the back--it's pretty there too!

I think this is very well done!

How wonderfully you enhanced a beautiful quilt! I love the embroidered snowman-going to have to find that pattern!

She had embroidered in the corners, so no quilting done there!
